Yaesu FT-817ND

My QRP Rig, with this wonderful little rig I do all my mobile HF, backpacking etc.

I use a buddipole portable antenna system, and a homebrew Hamstick vertical for QRP work. The Z817 tuner is only used in a pinch when either antenna system cant be tuned properly. For battery power I use the internal stock battery and a 2 ah sealed lead acid battery which yields a few hours between the two. Also have an auto power plug for those times when DC power is nearby. A MFJ-1840 antenna is used for listening to 40m. In my go kit there is also Waterproof logbook, pen, various adapters and various lengths of coax. Just recently I added the Kranker knob from finger dimple. It makes tuning very slick.
